Hell Bunny Rock On Dress in Size 4X

Hell Bunny Petticoat in White Size XL-XXL

Custom Name Necklace Everyday is like Halloween

Can you tell I'm in love?? When I first peeped Hell Bunnies spring/summer catalog the Rock On dress didn't stand out to me. My first thought was "another tattoo themed dress...meh".  The more I looked at it the more I wanted to try it. I didn't have any other HB dresses that were cut like the Rock On. I was curious to see if it would fit me as well as the others with the smocking on the back. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This dress fits me like a glove. I honestly think it fits me better than any of my other HB dresses. The arm holes are not tight at all. I didn't get the excess material sag under my arms or though the front of my chest. This seems to be a problem for me sometimes. The cut out in the back is perfect. Showing just enough skin to be sexy, but not revealing my bra band. I'm always fond of the length of these 50s style Hell Bunny dresses. I think for this design the length is lovely. I would, however, like to see Hell Bunny come out with some shorter length dresses. Most of the dresses in the plus size range are, this length. Hell bunnies normal range collection has many short dresses. I'm fat, but I don't mind showing a little leg.
While at first glance I thought the Rock On was just another tattoo dress, but it's really not. This print is very fun. I'm totally digging on the blue sharks though out. HB always goes above and beyond with their awesome, unique prints. Once I put this dress on I didn't feel it was just another tattoo print dress. I felt so beautiful and sassy. Oh and it looked pretty great with my hair.

Insecurities are a bitch: The Outfit I would never wear.

This is an outfit I was over the moon to order. It would sit in my closet for three years.

This is the outfit that shows my fat belly. The one that makes my hips look too wide.

This is the outfit that made me cry the first time I saw it in the mirror.

This outfit emerged today and I said "screw it"

This is the outfit I will wear today. I will look fierce and fabulous. I look good with a belly, hips and big butt.  Insecurities are a bitch. I never thought I could wear body con. This year I WILL embrace form fitting clothing.

ModCloth Poe Inspired Nevermore Lovely Dress

The Raven

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—
    While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
“’Tis some visiter,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
            Only this and nothing more.”

    Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December;
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
    Eagerly I wished the morrow;—vainly I had sought to borrow
    From my books surcease of sorrow—sorrow for the lost Lenore—
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore—
            Nameless here for evermore.

    And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me—filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
    So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating
    “’Tis some visiter entreating entrance at my chamber door—
Some late visiter entreating entrance at my chamber door;—
            This it is and nothing more.”

    Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,
“Sir,” said I, “or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
    But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,
    And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,
That I scarce was sure I heard you”—here I opened wide the door;—
            Darkness there and nothing more.

    Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
    But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token,
    And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, “Lenore?”
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, “Lenore!”—
            Merely this and nothing more.

    Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning,
Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before.
    “Surely,” said I, “surely that is something at my window lattice;
      Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore—
Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore;—
            ’Tis the wind and nothing more!”

  Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore;
    Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
    But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door—
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door—
            Perched, and sat, and nothing more.

Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
“Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,” I said, “art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore—
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore!”
            Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

    Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly,
Though its answer little meaning—little relevancy bore;
    For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being
    Ever yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door—
Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door,
            With such name as “Nevermore.”

  But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
    Nothing farther then he uttered—not a feather then he fluttered—
    Till I scarcely more than muttered “Other friends have flown before—
On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before.”
            Then the bird said “Nevermore.”

    Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,
“Doubtless,” said I, “what it utters is its only stock and store
    Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster
    Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore—
Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore
            Of ‘Never—nevermore’.”

    But the Raven still beguiling all my fancy into smiling,
Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door;
    Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
    Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore—
What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore
            Meant in croaking “Nevermore.”

       This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom’s core;
    This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
    On the cushion’s velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o’er,
But whose velvet-violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o’er,
            She shall press, ah, nevermore!

    Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer
Swung by Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor.
    “Wretch,” I cried, “thy God hath lent thee—by these angels he hath sent thee
    Respite—respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore;
Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!”
            Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

    “Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if bird or devil!—
Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
    Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted—
    On this home by Horror haunted—tell me truly, I implore—
Is there—is there balm in Gilead?—tell me—tell me, I implore!”
            Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

“Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if bird or devil!
By that Heaven that bends above us—by that God we both adore—
    Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,
    It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore—
Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore.”
            Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

    “Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!” I shrieked, upstarting—
“Get thee back into the tempest and the Night’s Plutonian shore!
    Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
    Leave my loneliness unbroken!—quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!”
            Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

    And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
    And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,
    And the lamp-light o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
            Shall be lifted—nevermore!

This month's Ahead of the Curve theme is the world of black and white. What's black and white and read all over? The Raven! Is there a better way to celebrate such a beautifully macabre piece of poetry than though fashion? I dare think not. I was yearning to own this unique dress from ModCloth for months. The Poe inspired Nevermore Lovely Dress is a motif of French script, quills, inkwells, cages, and, of course, the ebony bird that always beguiles your smile. The Nevermore dress has a sleeveless bodice, but I preferred for March weather to style it with a shurg underneath. Additionally I added a black petticoat that I picked up at Chic Star cheap. All my ModCloth dresses are a size 4X. This dress is no exception. The Nevermore dress does, however, run bigger than my others from Mod. The waist is a tiny bit big so I opted to add a belt, just to bring it in a tiny bit.

 My shoes are the Career Fairest heels from ModCloth. These shoes are a two tone Mary Jane style heel. What I loved about them was the thicker heel and the fact they were not overly high. I don't do well on skinny high heels. My feet are not skinny or very wide. I guess they would be somewhere in the middle. I dislike when a shoe is too narrow and I'm made to feel like an evil step sister. I do not have that problem with these. There is wiggle room though the width.

 Some of my readers may recall I recently posted that I'm obsessed with hats and gloves. My look was screaming for some uber cute black leather glovettes. I picked my gloves up on Etsy from Daniel Storto. Handcrafted by America's master glove maker Daniel Storto based in Gloversville New York [the one time glove capital of the world] using historical glove making tools from the 1800s which were all produced in Gloversville New York. These gloves were custom made so they took a little while to receive. It was well worth the wait because they are gorgeous. If placing an order please measure your hands very carefully. These gloves are a snug fit and of you measure wrong you will not get them on. After wearing them for a few hours, they have loosened up and are much more comfortable.

No Poe inspired look is complete without an image of Poe himself. My necklace I designed last summer as part of my collection for Haunted Hamilton. This necklace is still available on my Etsy page along with other Poe pieces.

Don't stop here! Check out all the chic, smart ways other bloggers from AHEAD OF THE CURVE interpreted this month's theme as well. Just click HERE.

ModCloth Rad to the Bone Dress in Plus Size

I'm addicted to looking at my Mod Cloth app. I check it almost daily. Hence, why I have a Mod Cloth wish list a mile long. I can always find dresses that I love at Mod. Recently I opened one of their daily email and to my surprise, it was a notification that their Rad to the Bone dress was back in stock. When I first saw this dress I fell hard. I was horrified to find it was out of stock. This dress was one of those dresses you dream about at night, worrying it will never get stocked again.

The Rad to the Bone dress is wicked sweet and is intelligently embellished with bones and their terminology. This cotton dress is a great length hitting me at my knees and has the added benefit of pockets. I picked this dress up in size 4X and it fits my size 26/28 body perfectly. My favorite thing about this dress besides the black and white print is the fact the print glows in the dark. How fun is that??

As much as I would have loved to wear this dress without a sweater, it's still super cold here in Canada. I could not wait until spring to get it on. I added one of my favorite Hell Bunny cardigans from Sweet Echo Plus to keep me warm. Funky tights that matched my lips were also in order. My Violet legs are from We Love Colors.

If you are new to Mod Cloth and you would like to check them out HERE is a link to recieve $15 off your first order.
